Privacy policy
xScroller Chrome extension · Last updated: October 21, 2026
xScroller collects no data. It makes no network requests, and has no accounts, analytics, tracking or ads. Nothing you read, and nothing about how you use the extension, ever leaves your device.
What is stored, and where
xScroller saves two small preferences, only in your own browser:
- Your look (graphite or blue), in
chrome.storage.local, so the popup, the on-page controls and the toolbar icon match after a restart. - Each tab's speed (slow, medium or fast), in
chrome.storage.session, which Chrome clears when the browser closes.
Neither is synced to your Google account or sent anywhere. Removing the extension deletes both.
Permissions, and why they're needed
- storage: to keep the two preferences above.
- activeTab: when you click the xScroller icon, Chrome lets it act on that one tab. It has no access to any other tab or site, and none until you click.
- scripting: to load xScroller's own packaged scrolling code into that tab when you press play or show the on-page controls. It doesn't read, record or send page content; it only works out which part of the page scrolls.
xScroller doesn't ask for access to all websites, and runs on a page only after you click its icon there.
Data sharing and sale
xScroller has no data to share, so it shares none, and never sells or transfers user data to anyone. It doesn't use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to scrolling, and doesn't use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. A change that collected any data would be announced in the extension's store listing before it shipped.
